Background

The project “Beyond Barriers: Resilience of Roma in the Western Balkans” is a regional initiative aimed at improving the economic status, social inclusion, and combating antigypsyism in five Western Balkan countries: North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, and Kosovo. The project is supported by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Research and Policy Analysis Romalitico, in partnership with InSoC – Institute for Social Change – Tetovo.

Job Description

The Advocacy Officer will be responsible for advancing the advocacy and policy goals of the project, focusing on raising awareness and action against antigypsyism, promoting inclusive policies for Roma, and ensuring regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. The officer will support the establishment and development of a coordinated regional network of Roma organizations and advocate for their inclusion in policymaking processes, legal reforms, and public dialogue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishment and promotion of the Regional Policy Center for Roma Inclusion.
  • Monitoring EU sectoral reforms and national policies for Roma inclusion.
  • Advocacy for the priorities and needs of Roma communities in the region.
  • Development of a regional platform for donor cooperation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A university degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in advocacy, policy development, or related fields, preferably focusing on Roma inclusion, minority rights, or anti-discrimination.
  • Proven experience working on EU-funded projects and knowledge of EU policies on Roma inclusion.
  • Experience in drafting policy documents, advocacy materials, and engaging with high-level institutional representatives.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in English.

Selection Process:
